Workshop for Assessing Inequalities in Registration

The Civil Registration Vital Statistics (CRVS) Inception Workshop for Assessing Inequalities in Registration was held on 11 March 2022 in Lao PDR. The key purposes of the workshop were “to provide an overview of the project, to further develop relationships among relevant stakeholders (data providers, data users, and policy makers), to learn from each stakeholder on possible challenges, such as data access, data sharing and demographic analysis capacities, and how these challenges can be addressed, to collaboratively develop a plan for progressing the assessment”. CHIP welcomes this initiative, which will contribute to concretely reducing the inequalities in registration and therefore contribute to a better respect of the right to identity.
