Need for improved archiving and access to records

At least 30,000 children enter care per year in the UK. At one point these children may want to access their care records. Regrettably bureaucratic processes and current data protection rules have created obstacles for these children to access information about their personal history. Child Identity Protection advocates for full access to personal records and a wide interpretation of article 15(4) GDPR so that children (and later adults) can fully access their rights to identity and know their origins.
