Regional efforts to improve Civil Registration and Vital Statistics systems to protect children, for example to fight child marriage in Pakistan

In preparation of the Second Ministerial Conference on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) in Asia and the Pacific held from 16 to 19 November 2021, a number of advocacy tools were prepared to tackle the remaining challenges to achieving universal registration systems – including the launch of the “Getting Every One in the Picture”. One of the tools for example that CHIP finds particularly useful includes a video about the work of United Nations Population Fund in Pakistan to building a strong and centralized CRVS system. This video describes how a strong CRVS system can help fight against child marriage and protect children’s access to other rights.
