Research Handbook on Surrogacy and the Law
After years of preparation and perseverance, the editors Claire Achmad, Sharon Shakargy and Katarina Trimmings – two of whom are CHIP special advisors – have launched a comprehensive handbook on surrogacy. It not only includes Chapters specifically targeting issues related to children and identity, as well as role of intermediaries in sale of children, it covers women’s issues. The handbook is rich in latest developments and considerations including globalisation, power, gender, sexual orientation, genetics, human rights, family relations, cross-border aspects, and regional perspectives.
Various members of the Child Identity Protection (CHIP) team had the honour of contributing to the handbook. Thanks to its content, CHIP looks forward to seeing a better understanding of different interests and further alignment with human rights for all actors involved.
