Supporting children through postcards and Ciao.ch website

Following CHIP’s participation in research into foster placement decisions in Switzerland according to the evolution of international standards, a child-friendly guide in (English | French | German | Italian) was drawn up, with the support of the FNS and various child protection professionals. The Guide aims to reinforce the prevention of family separations and raising awareness of the rights of children at risk of being or separated from their families. To disseminate the guide in Switzerland to the children and young people concerned, CHIP has printed postcards with a QR code giving access to all the information and addresses in the guide. This format has proved successful, with over 2500 postcards distributed across the country to date. CHIP also had the pleasure of writing articles for the ciao.ch website, where young people in French-speaking Switzerland can anonymously ask questions in all areas, receive answers from professionals, discuss with other young people and find out more. The articles written by CHIP aim to encourage young people to seek help in the event of serious difficulties within their families, to explain their rights in the event of placement, and to provide them with a list of professionals to contact throughout Switzerland.
